Another Child Waits

I've watched my friends go home from here,
to their families, one by one,
Yet here I stay thru all these years,
Waiting for you to come.

I know that I'm not perfect,
Yet they tell me that I'm bright,
I just wish that you could only look,
past what is wrong, to what is right.

I've watched my friends go home from here,
I dream of how that'd feel,
A pair of loving arms to hold me,
Will this dream ever become real?

I know that I would be home by now,
If not for fears of the unknown,
Yet I have many of my own you see,
In that you're not alone.

I've watched my friends go home from here,
It's happening to Meili today,
But wait! Her Mama has something for me,
I take it and don't know what to say.

With trembling hands, I open the book,
And peek at what's inside,
A picture of a family,
"Can this be true?" I cried!

I've watched my friends go home from here,
It's my turn now, it's true,
I linger at the gate for one last time,
Then bravely walk on out with you.

I can't wait until we can send Jorja a package! We should be able to send her a few packages before we are able to travel to get her. I have already begun arranging photos of the family for her. Hopefully this will help her feel confident in that we are doing everything possible to get to her!
Please remember our Jorja in your prayers! I get so sad at night, as I tuck the other kids in their beds - and know that Jorja doesn't have anyone doing that for her. Pray this time goes quickly for her!

Kisses in The Wind

I hold you in my hear and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.

Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.

RAD

I have been doing my reading on RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder).
Adopting a 4 year old will be totally different then adopting a 16 month old who wasn't walking or feeding herself yet. So I am trying to prepare myself and the family. Well, let me tell you!
I got some wonderful news!!!

Psychologists say: It is a good idea to dress the child in clothing that match Mom and other members of the family! This gives the child a sense of belonging!!!

How cool is that? So, when Jorja gets home and the whole family is dressed similar there will be no negative comments made! Do you hear me Uncle Jay B? It's all done with love for Jorja and making her feel comfortable with her family! :)
Has nothing to do with me wanting to dress Jailyn and Jorja a like! :)

Mom, we have clearance to buy the girls matching outfits!!! It's that cool!
(oh, poor Jorja!)
Can't wait to get her home!!!

Just look at that beautiful face!

The newest photo we received of Jorja shows her inquisitive side! Like her sisters!!

Photo of Jorja

Look at our sweet girl!!! A mom of one of Jorja's friends sent this photo to us. Jorja is in the sweatshirt with the dark sleeves! I can't wait to hold her tight!!!

The second photo is her "fish face". Actually, she was just given a Hersey's kiss candy. Like mother like daughter!

yeah! We've jumped one hurrdle!

I met with our Social Worker today! She is wonderful! If there is anyone in North Dallas who needs a social worker for an adoption, give me a call! I will give you her information! She Is great!
We were kinda nervous to tell her about Jorja. She really isn't big on "out of birth order adoption". She was so excited for us I couldn't believe it! Of course, she warned us that for every year a child is in an orphanage you can expect a 4 month delay in development. I must agree with her. From what we have experienced with Jailyn and seen in others this is true. So, even though Jorja will be 4 years old. We can expect her to act like a 2 year old in many ways. According to her height and weight measurements she's the size of a 2 year old too. ( a small two year old). Our Social Worker also warned us that since Jailyn has been home for almost a year - she will probably be a head of Jorja in many ways. It will be like having twins I guess! How fun! :)

Beverley, our SW, is so excited to get our paper work done! I am so glad! Maybe we will hold our little angel sooner then I expected! Why do the Olympics have to be in China this year?
And though the Olympics are in Beijing, why do airfares go up so high to fly to Guangzhou?
Doesn't make sense!!

Tomorrow our LOI (Letter of Intent) will go to China. This letter is requesting permission from the Chinese Government for us to go ahead with Jorja's adoption. They hold all the strings. Okay, God actually holds all the cards! Please pray with us that all our paperwork gets going faster then later! We can't wait to bring home our little sweetie!

My heart hurts!

I am so excited to have found our little girl and can't wait to hold her in our arms.  But, my heart also aches for those friends who are still waiting to see the face of their child!  I have many friends who have been waiting approx. 24 months (some a longer wait, some haven't reached the 2 yr mark yet and are still waiting!).  I know God has lead us down different paths! Please don't be mad at us!  Please look at it as another child is finding their forever family!
Of course, I am the type of person that wants to make everyone happy -I have no control over this.  As I pray for your journey, please pray for ours too!
Can't wait for y'all to see your babies faces!
